Ian Smith AM

Ian Smith consults to governments, global and leading Australian companies. He has worked on cross-border transactions, crisis briefs and regulatory matters. A former journalist and government advisor, Ian has a vast political, business and media network. He was previously CEO of Gavin Anderson & Company and part of the company’s worldwide executive committee, and an advisor to former State Liberal Party leaders.

He is the United Kingdom’s Honorary Consul in South Australia and sits on boards in the corporate and not-for-profit sectors. Ian is deeply involved in refugee advocacy chairing Barefoot To Boots, a project to assist refugees in camps, and as a member of the Friendly Nation Initiative, which engages major Australian businesses in the resettlement of Syrian refugees.
