Andrew Butcher was News Corporation’s spokesman and the personal spokesman for Rupert Murdoch for nearly a decade. He worked on some of the company’s most significant transactions and was a trusted advisor to many across the company. He was previously a journalist with News Corporation papers in Australia and a foreign correspondent in Tokyo and New York.
Andrew worked as Executive Director of Communication and Media Relations at Telstra Corporation, where he advised the company’s Board and CEO and oversaw all media relations and issues management. Since leaving Telstra, Andrew has remained an external advisor to the company.
Andrew is involved in a range of not for profit roles with a particular passion for medical research and is a director of Museums Victoria. He is married to NBC correspondent Sara James and they have two daughters – Sophie and Jacqueline.
